The Bronx Defenders Summer Internships

Through the dedication of our lawyers, social workers, investigators, parent advocates, community organizers and support staff, The Bronx Defenders have transformed the role of the public defender by changing the nature of the attorney-client relationship, investing in the communities where our clients live and striving to create justice for the people we serve. Whether addressing the root causes of their involvement in the criminal justice system such as addiction, mental illness and joblessness or the collateral consequences of their criminal case, our goal is not just to succeed in court but to make a long-term difference in our clients’ lives. We have summer internships for college students in the three following areas: Investigation, Policy and Community Development and Parent Advocacy. We will be accepting applications from January 7, 2013 until March 1, 2013; interviews and decisions will be conducted in March. The 2013 summer internship period runs from June 4, 2013 until August 9, 2013. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resume (preferably in one document) to internships@bronxdefenders.org. Please put “College Internship” in the subject line of the email. For any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Dominique Fenton ’10, an investigator at The Bronx Defenders, at dominiquef@bronxdefenders.org.
