12/15, 6PM-Candlelight Vigil for Victims of Newtown School Shooting

Dwight Hall is an organization committed to promoting public service and social justice.  We have a number of student organizations that work closely with elementary school students in schools in New Haven and neighboring cities. Over time many of our students establish meaningful relationships with the students they interact with regularly.

It was disconcerting to learn that earlier this morning a shooting took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, a town just a drive away from New Haven.

As an organization that supports student groups that work closely with members of New Haven and neighboring cities, we would like to gather as a community tomorrow, December 15, on the New Haven Green at 6 PM to remember the lost lives in today’s shooting and express our support for their families.

All are welcome to attend. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost family and friends.
