Participate in the Shining Hope for Communities Summer Institute

Shining Hope for Communities — an NGO working to support girls’ education and community development in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya — will be accepting applications for the annual Summer Institute program.

The Summer Institute brings undergraduate college students from the US to the Kibera School for Girls (KSG) — the first free school for girls in Kibera – to collaborate with local youth in leading a three-week fun, educational “Summer Camp” for the students.  Volunteers will work at KSG Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm. On weekends, participants will be able to explore Nairobi’s vibrant culture as well as travel outside of the city on scheduled outings.

Energetic, independent, passionate undergraduate students are needed to participate in this year’s program. The application process has now opened, and participants will be accepted on a rolling basis.

The application for the program, and much more information, is available here: http://shininghopeforcommunities.org/support/work-with-us/summer-institute/.
