Market Research Summer Analyst
The Yale Club of New York City

Overview: The Tap Room will be undergoing a $3.6 M renovation from May 2013 –
September 2013. This position requires great responsibility and passion, as the summer
intern is responsible for the Yale Club’s Food and Beverage market research projects and
analysis including conducting research on venue spaces, restaurants, and food and beverage
pricing across the industry and reviewing food and cocktail menus for the Tap Room.

I. Market Research

• Work with the Director of Food and Beverage to provide market report on

peer venue spaces and restaurants offering and price points

• Conduct research to enhance the food and beverage outlets including event

spaces catering toward the young members

• Provide research on optimal pricing for the newly built bar and kitchen

offerings including shared plates and cocktail food

• Work and coordinate with the Activities Manager the implementation of

member events throughout the program

• Conduct survey to gauge interest in music selection for the Grill Room

II. Marketing and Communications

• Work with the marketing team to communicate updates and offerings after

the renovation of the Tap Room

• Work with the Food and Beverage department to recommend menu layout

and marketing to members

III. Administrative

• Provide administrative support to the Banquets department including but not

limited to invoice billing and managing reservations


• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (work experience beneficial)

• Ability to manage time effectively and multi-take to meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong work ethic and dedication to work products

• Ability to work independently

• Strong project management skills

• Interest in hospitality, events and/or the Food and Beverage Industry

• Experience in market research and analysis preferred but not required

• Experience in Hospitability and/or Food and Beverage preferred but not required

• Must be able to work 40 hours/week for 3 months from May 2013 to August 2013
