Americorps VISTA Grant Announcement

AmeriCorps VISTA – Volunteers In Service To America members met with Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, New Haven Public Schools Superintendent Garth Harries, and VISTA Director Mary Strasser at New Haven Reads. The project recently won a $345,000 grant.

Dwight Hall at Yale has two new AmeriCorps VISTA members: Sarah Masotta with the New Haven Education Project and Jennifer Yoo with Campus Compact.  Dwight Hall also has a new Program Associate Britney Stanley.  Please feel free to stop by and say hi to our new team members!

The New Haven Agency on Aging – the sponsoring organization for the New Haven VISTA programs- has been awarded a $345,000 grant.   Currently there are 16 VISTA working in New Haven.  This grant will increase the number to 22! Click here for a snap shot of the VISTA impact since July 2012.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro announced the grant Wednesday August 7th, 2013 at New Haven Reads.  Ted Surh the President and CEO of the Agency on Aging, Garth Harries the New Haven Schools Superintendent, Mary Strasser the Director of AmeriCorps VISTA, and all active VISTA in New Haven along with their host organizations were invited to the announcement.   For the full article please click here.
