Cosma Foundation: Grant Writing and Sustainable International Development

Summary of Opportunity:

Cosma is a holistic community based development agency; they work in a small rural community in Uganda and aim to improve quality of life through a number of initiatives, including sustainable agricultural practice, entrepreneurial and advanced university education, and mentoring/psychosocial support for children. We are currently looking for a Yale student who is interested in getting involved in the organization, specifically in the realm of grant writing. We are looking for a student who can join our team for a year or so and help us draft grants during that time, while learning about the inner workings of Cosma and the challenges/considerations of this type of work. Time commitment is flexible; we understand the ebbs and flows of workload in college. We hope that this can be an opportunity for a Yalie who is interested in sustainable international development and the nonprofit world to learn more about this career path and grant writing through experience. Interested students may contact International Director, Jensen Reckhow, at jensen.reckhow@aya.yale.edu to discuss this further.
