Y2Y and YHHAP have been working with members of the Yale and New Haven communities to explore whether we should adapt the model to address the critical need for youth shelter in New Haven.
Y2Y Harvard Square is the nation’s first student run homeless shelter for young adults ages 18-24. It opened in 2015 in Cambridge MA, is run by Harvard and other Boston area students, and has served over 150 young adults since opening.
- We’re looking to build a founding team to explore working with local partners to open a shelter for young adults!
- Interested? Check out our info session on Friday April 21st at 3 PM, at the Library at Dwight Hall - Flyer attached, and Facebook event is here, make sure to invite your friends!
- Can’t make it but still interested? Reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be in touch
- We’ll be bringing on undergrad and graduate members of the team at all commitment levels. If you care about ending youth homelessness, and you’re able to deliver on what you commit to, we’ve got a spot for you.
We hope you’ll join our efforts to ensure that all young people have safe shelter, and resources to build a pathway out of homelessness.
