YELL for Climate Action Letter Writing Workshop | Friday, November 3rd 4:00 – 5:00 PM
Join students from across Yale at YELL for Climate Action’s letter-writing workshop that will give you all the tools you need to write an effective letter to audiences in your hometown in support of climate action. During the workshop, we will be quickly covering how to use data to craft our narratives and make our “asks” locally relevant (walking through a Climate Action Toolkit). And then we’ll get to drafting! RSVP if you can attend the event. If you cannot attend but are still interested in writing a letter, visitYELLforClimate.org to join YELL for Climate Action.
ABOUT: The Yale Environmental Leadership Letters (YELL) for Climate Action is a student-run collaboration between the John F. Kerry Initiative, Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, Data-Driven Yale, and numerous student groups across Yale University. Its goal is to empower and spur action by Yale students from all 50 U.S. states, and from abroad, to publish opinion-editorials or letters to the editor on climate change in their hometown local newspapers. These letters will expand the reach of the Yale Climate Conference by advancing its themes through highlighting the urgency of acting on climate change, elevating awareness about the state of public opinion and readily available climate solutions, and demanding ambitious action by local and national officials.
