Education: Yale College
Bio: Johnny Scafidi currently serves as the Director of Development and Alumni Relations for Dwight Hall at Yale, Center for Public Service and Social Justice. Now in his 15th year at Dwight Hall, Johnny is responsible for fundraising, grant-writing, and alumni engagement for the organization. In his previous role as Program Director, he advised Yale College students from 90 student-run organizations in program design, implementation, and evaluation while working with community members, representatives from non-governmental organizations, staff from public agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure that student initiatives are aligned with community needs. Johnny graduated with a BA from Yale College and, while an undergraduate, was one of the founding members of Community Health Educators which has since become a national model that provides health education to teenagers in school districts that lack formal health education curricula. Johnny resides in New Haven, CT with his spouse (who also works in the non-profit sector) and three children, aged 9, 7, and 3. He is proud to claim Clifton, NJ as his hometown and credits his involvement as a youth in a Teaneck, NJ family-run business as his most formative educational experience.
