YHHAP’s Abraham’s Tent Seeks Interested Volunteers

Summary of Opportunity:

YHHAP’s Abraham’s Tent is looking for interested
individuals to staff overnight shifts this spring. Abraham’s Tent is a
cooperative effort between Columbus House and congregations of faith in
greater New Haven. These congregations open their facilities to house up to
12 homeless people overnight for one week each during the winter months.
YHHAP works with the United Church on the Green to provide overnight
volunteers for their week of hosting. Volunteering is a great way to interact
with individuals experiencing homelessness in the New Haven community in a
more in-depth way and to meet other New Haven residents who care about
homelessness.Grad students and undergraduates are welcome.
