Dwight Hall Legacy Society

The Dwight Hall Legacy Society was established in 2005 to recognize and honor alumni, parents, and friends who have included Dwight Hall in their long term financial and estate plans, through a bequest provision in their will, by establishing a life-income gift, or through another form of deferred gift.

Bequests and testamentary gifts from alumni and friends ensure that future generations of students can grow as leaders of social change through Dwight Hall at Yale.

Including Dwight Hall at Yale in Your Estate Plan

You can make a specific gift to Dwight Hall at Yale of cash, securities, real estate or other property through your will or trust.  You might also consider naming Dwight Hall at Yale as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy.

A bequest or trust provision may qualify your estate for an estate tax charitable deduction.  We encourage you to discuss with your financial advisor, accountant, and/or estate planner.

Dwight Hall at Yale currently accepts unrestricted gifts to allow the organization to allocate funds to areas of greatest need.  If you are interested in designating your bequest for a particular purpose or use by a specific program, we kindly ask that you first contact us to discuss your intention.

Sample Testamentary Language

“I/We bequeath to Dwight Hall at Yale, a nonprofit charitable corporation located in New Haven, CT (EIN 06-0653140), (_______ dollars) / (_________ a specific asset, such as securities, real estate or other property) / (all or _____ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate) to be used for its general purposes.”
