RISE’s Multicultural Festival!

Announcement Description:
RISE is hosting its first Multicultural Festival on Saturday, April 21st on
Old Campus, which will be featuring professional performers, Yale student
groups, local restaurants, and a cultural fashion show! We look forward to
seeing you all there to engage in this cultural exchange. We’d love to see
some people come out in cultural attire as well. This event is open to all of
New Haven, and we look forward to seeing you all there! This event is free of
charge. Food and refreshments from a variety of restaurants will be available
for everyone. This event is a part of the 2018 Yale Arab Conference - Amalna:
Paving the Road Ahead, which will begin on April 20th. Please find more

Our guest performers are Karim Nagi, an Egyptian cultural performer, and
Ariana Brown, an Afro-Latina spoken word poet! The Fashion Show will feature
designs by local high school students, who will then model their designs.

Yale performers and student groups participating include but are not limited
to: South Asian Society, Afghan Students Association, Thai Students at Yale,
Japanese Students at Yale, and Yale Jashan Bhangra!

Local restaurants that will be catering the event include but are not limited
to: Mamoun’s, Hasna’s Grill, Zaroka, Jeera Thai, Taste of Brazil, Lalibela,
and Thai Ice Cream!
