Event time:
Wednesday, December 2, 2020 - 11:00am
Event description:
Prisons and jails remain hotspots for COVID-19.
- Given these outbreaks, should incarcerated people and correctional staff be prioritized in COVID-19 vaccine distribution?
- How should COVID-19 vaccine distribution be implemented across correctional facilities in various settings (e.g. rural jails)?
- Should incarcerated people participate in ongoing and future vaccine trials? What are the related ethical considerations?
On December 2nd, 11 AM- 1 PM (ET), the SEICHE Center is hosting a webinar focused on the ethical and logistical complexities of distributing COVID-19 vaccines inside correctional facilities. Our speakers will include historians with expertise in vaccines and mass incarceration, medical ethicists, public health experts, and correctional administrators to discuss a range of issues on COVID-19 vaccine distribution within prisons and jails.
