SUMMARY:Innovator’s Toolkit: Civic Innovation with Genevive Walker
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR THIS ONLINE EVENT. \n\n\n\nThis session will focus attention on poverty and explore what happens when the societal response is involvement vs. apathy\, accountability vs blame\, genuine support vs academic observation. Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology has approached poverty from the lens of wealth generation for a decade and continues to provide opportunities to reconsider what it means to be historically underserved\, underperforming\, underrepresented using involvement\, accountability\, and genuine support as vehicles for economic progress. ConnCAT works in the fields of workforce development\, youth arts motivational programs\, entrepreneurship\, and most recently through the development of the Connecticut Community Outreach Revitalization Program (ConnCORP) economic justice and neighborhood revitalization. \n\n\n\nSpeaker Bio: Genevive Walker was raised in New Haven\, Connecticut. She attended public school and subsequently attended and graduated with cum laude distinction from Temple University in Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies.
