The Urban Resources Initiative (URI) is looking to fill several paid internship positions with its spring tree planting and summer Greenspace programs. Interns will have an opportunity to learn about urban ecology and community forestry, connect with the New Haven community, and improve local environments in a fast-paced, hands-on setting. Interns of all experience levels are welcome – we ask only that you bring a commitment to community and willingness to learn! We encourage you to visit https://uri.yale.edu/get-involved/internships for more information, or to give us a call at 203-432-6189.
Spring Tree Planting Crew: Want to plant street trees with the best planting crew in town? We are seeking students to fill 3 shifts: Monday afternoons (12-6pm), Tuesday mornings (7am-12:30pm), and/or Wednesday afternoons (12-6pm). The planting season is 6 weeks long, starting after spring break, with a paid training next week. If interested, please send your resume and a brief letter of interest to Caro at email@example.com. You must have a U.S. driver’s license and a willingness to make New Haven a healthier and greener place to live!
Community Greenspace: URI Community Forestry interns work with citizen groups, city officials, and non-profit agencies to restore neighborhood open spaces and streetscapes. This is a great learning experience for those interested in urban forestry, community engagement, and grassroots environmental restoration. If interested, please send your resume and cover letter to Chris Ozyck at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications for Spring internships are due ASAP, while applications for summer positions must be submitted by March 6, 2020.
