Clothing Donations and Distributions at Dwight Hall

Clothing Donations and Distributions

Dwight Hall collects clothing and shoes year-round through a large brown donation bin on Yale’s Old Campus adjacent to to Dwight Hall by the entrance to the Common Room and Chapel. Donated items are sorted and distributed to community partners on a regular basis.

Dropping off donations

Donations of clothing and shoes in good condition are welcome all year round. Items can be dropped in the bin at any time and we welcome from students and local residents alike. There are a few rules related to dropping off clothes: 1. If the bin is full, do not leave items outside it. Come into Dwight Hall and drop your items at the main office. 2. To prevent water damage, please drop clothes in plastic or other waterproof bags. If you would like to coordinate a large donation, please contact dwighthall@yale.edu.

Donation Sorting

During the academic year, Dwight Hall will regularly organize events where students can help sort the donations that have been received and prepare for distributions to partner organizations.

Donation Distributions

Dwight Hall works with local partners including Loaves and Fishes, Community Soup Kitchen, the New Haven Pride Center and others to distribute clothing to community members in need.
