Rachel Rossi was appointed to serve as Director of the Office for Access to Justice in May 2022 by President Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland. Prior to serving as Director of this office, she served as the first Anti-Hate Coordinator for the Justice Department as part of her role as the Deputy Associate Attorney General, under Associate Attorney General Vanity Gupta. Before that, she served as Counsel to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Richard J. Durbin, before becoming Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security. She will be discussing her career at SSS 114, starting from her serving as a public defender in Los Angeles to her current role as the Office of Access to Justice Director!
