Dwight Hall is proud to present the Fall 2023 Service Series–a calendar of meaningful service events that are readily accessible to students. Every week, Dwight Hall and a community partner will offer a service opportunity that addresses a community partner’s needs.
This calendar presents service opportunities that are low-key and low-commitment, making it ideal for students who feel they lack the time or capacity for greater participation. At the same time, through continued engagement with this calendar of events, students will get to know community partners and deepen their involvement with public service on campus and in New Haven.
With the DH Fall 2023 Service Series, you can:
- Make a flexible time commitment to service
- Choose when to attend service events each month
- Engage with a wide range of community partners and issues
- Build bridges to more meaningful involvement with community partners and long-term positive social change

Winter Knitting Donation Workshop
Come to the CEID to knit hats with a knitting machine or knit by hand with donated wool! All items will be donated to help keep our vulnerable neighbors in New Haven warm.
New knitters or crocheters welcome! BYO needles (if you have them). Snacks provided.
Can’t make it? Consider donating old clothes at the YHHAP donation bin to the left of Dwight Chapel or wool yarn next to the Dwight Hall office.
Volunteer with Sunrise Cafe
Dwight Hall has adopted Tuesdays throughout Fall 2023 as a volunteer date at Sunrise Cafe.
