Volunteer with the Greater New Haven NAACP ahead of the 2024 Election

As you know, this election will be determined by turnout.  The Greater New Haven NAACP is a nonpartisan group laser focused on improving voter education and mobilizing people to both register and vote.  These are the critical foundations of our experiment in democracy.

As part of this effort, we are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of things including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and texting to help register folks and get the word out about Project 2025. When early voting starts, we are also planning to help our neighbors who face transportation barriers and looking at options including using church buses to provide scheduled group transportation to and from both City Hall on early election days and individual transportation on Election Day.  We’re also serving as an information hub on Election Day- providing voter information about polling places, hours- and yes, transportation.

But we need help.

Can you or other Yale affiliates work with the GNH NAACP in our own backyard to get the vote out? This is a boots on the ground/pumps on the pavement moment- and every volunteer minute counts.

We’re happy to give you more options for participation- as we strongly believe that everybody can do something.  And we must.
