American Red Cross at Yale (ARCY)

Who are we?

We are an undergraduate organization working to bring national American Red Cross projects to the Yale campus. We work closely with the south central Connecticut Red Cross to organize blood drives and other community service activities. We leverage Yale University’s significant people resources to provide essential blood supplies to hospitals and patients.

What do we do?

1. American Red Cross Blood Drives (direct service)
We host American Red Cross Blood Drives at Yale throughout the academic year. We organize, advertise, and recruit donors and volunteers for those drives. In turn, we help the American Red Cross collect life-saving blood donations for patients.

2. Blood drives (direct service)

We will host week-long blood drives throughout the year through Red Cross.

Activities

American Red Cross at Yale (ARCY) Stop the Bleed Training Event Direct Service The American Red Cross at Yale (ARCY) will host a Stop the Bleed Event on April 19th. Its goal is to save lives by training people how to stop traumatic bleeding. American Red Cross at Yale Club Meeting Direct Service The American Red Cross at Yale Club Meeting is held before every blood drive (typically 4 times a year) to organize the forthcoming blood drive and to distribute blood drive ad posters to planted across campus. Typically food is served and a Dwight Hall car is needed. Blood Drives Direct Service In partnership with the American Red Cross, we host regular blood drives at Yale during each semester. These drives address the shortage in the blood supply necessary to support patients in urgent need of transfusions. By spending just a small part of their day at a blood drive, donors can save patients’ lives. American Red Cross Blood Drive Direct Service We host the American Red Cross for multiple blood drives in Dwight Hall over the course of the semester. Our volunteers work with the Red Cross to set up the drives and facilitate the donation experience! American Red Cross at Yale (ARCY) Blood Drives Direct Service The American Red Cross at Yale hosts blood drives to help collect life-saving blood donations for patients in need, raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, and engage the university community in humanitarian efforts. QR Code Print-Outs for Red Cross Blood Drives Direct Service We need to print out QR codes which will allow interested blood donors to view more information and sign up to donate blood 🙂
