Dwight Hall’s Communications team is seeking an Visual Content Creator & Photographer to assist with a variety of the Hall’s social justice and public service communications goals. Principal responsibilities will include photographing Dwight Hall events, people and spaces and creating visual print and web content about Dwight Hall and public service at Yale and in New Haven to be shared with Dwight Hall’s vast student and alumni network. 

Responsibilities include:

– Photograph Dwight Hall events, people, and spaces as assigned. This will require work during evenings and weekends, sometimes on relatively short notice. 

– Organize Dwight Hall’s cloud-based photo library 

– Curate photos for specific publications (Year in Reviews, Voices and Stories magazine, etc.). 

– Create visual print and web content about Dwight Hall and public service at Yale and in New Haven as assigned. The content creator may assist in other communications projects including creating posters, videos, and other digital content. 

– Participate in weekly communications brainstorming sessions. 

– Troubleshoot any problems that may arise. 

– Submit weekly reflections and keep Dwight Hall staff informed about program activities and progress. 

Job Requirements:

– Experience and comfortability with photography and photo editing. Experience using a mirrorless camera is preferred. 

– Graphic design skills; familiarity with Canva, Photoshop, or similar visual content creation software. 

– Reliability and attention to detail. 

– Flexible schedule with ability to work nights and weekends if necessary to photograph events. 

Our ideal candidate will have: 

– Federal Work Study eligibility 

Hours: 1-7/week

Hourly Rate: $17.00/hr
