Position Description:
Dwight Hall is seeking a Communications Editorial Writer to assist with a variety of the Hall’s social justice and public service communications goals. Principal responsibilities will include: writing print and web content about Dwight Hall and public service at Yale and in New Haven to be shared with Dwight Hall’s vast student and alumni network; contributing a minimum of one story per month to Dwight Hall’s Alumni & Friends e-newsletter; interviewing students and community leaders; participating in weekly communications brainstorming sessions; and managing web content (including posting stories, opportunities, and events to the Dwight Hall website). The Editorial Writer may assist in other communications projects including writing for the Dwight Hall student magazine and the Dwight Hall Year in Review. This is a great opportunity to gain experience writing, editing, and working with a fast-paced team dedicated to increasing the visibility of under-heard, invisible, or otherwise marginalized voices and stories. The position will largely be remote work with the possibility of in-person meetings.
Hours: 5-10 per week
Wage: $15
