This session will focus attention on poverty and explore what happens when the societal response is involvement vs. apathy, accountability vs blame, genuine support vs academic observation. Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology has approached poverty from the lens of wealth generation for a decade and continues to provide opportunities to reconsider what it means to be historically underserved, underperforming, underrepresented using involvement, accountability, and genuine support as vehicles for economic progress. ConnCAT works in the fields of workforce development, youth arts motivational programs, entrepreneurship, and most recently through the development of the Connecticut Community Outreach Revitalization Program (ConnCORP) economic justice and neighborhood revitalization.
