It’s hard to believe New Haven Public School’s annual district SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) Day is just 3 months away! 

To make this year’s event a success, we’re seeking talented individuals to volunteer and share their skills and expertise.

About SEL Day

We are excited to announce that New Haven Public Schools is partnering with community organizations to launch our 5th SEL Day campaign. This year, SEL Day falls on Friday, March 14th, which is also Pi Day! The theme of the campaign is: NHPS SEL Day – Engaging in Real World Connections.

In our 5th year of hosting this event, we would like to continue to offer virtual sessions and add opportunities for school-based in-person events or activities. The topics and activities can range from read-alouds, arts and crafts, virtual quiz games, music of any type, meditation, yoga, healing activities, drawing activities, hands-on group activities, science demonstrations, creative writing, spoken word, relationship skills, poetry writing, other writing activities, and many more! 

What: “SEL Day – Engaging in Real World Connections,” a virtual and in-person event offering a variety of workshops/sessions for students and staff throughout the district.

Intended Audience: All 41 New Haven Public School students and staff  

When:  Friday, March 14th, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Virtual Streamed Sessions 9:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
