Programming Fellow – Dwight Hall

Position:

Dwight Hall Programming Fellow

Position Focus:

Reporting to the Director of Programming and Evaluation, this fellowship is intended to be a launching point for a career in public service/nonprofit management. This individual will have the opportunity to learn while working in the fields of community engagement, nonprofit programming and administration, and higher education. They will also build professional and leadership skills while assisting with the delivery of a wide range of programs run by Dwight Hall at Yale.

This position is designed to be a one-year fellowship, renewable to a second year.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Supports and coordinates a range of community engagement and leadership development programs.

2. Works on various programs throughout the year, including volunteer engagement, community partnership development, and fellowship management.

3. Builds and monitors data and database management tools, with special attention to Salesforce.

4. Interacts with a wide range of audiences both internal and outside of Yale University.

5. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Ability to develop new skills with minimal structured training, have excellent organizational abilities, be attentive to detail, and eagerly strive for professionalism in all aspects of work.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Versatile communication skills, ability to produce creative and compelling prose suitable for web and print. Possession of a critical visual communications aesthetic, and comfort with speaking in public.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Passion for public service and social justice, ability to stay current with developments in the field, and be interested in pursuing a long-term career in the area.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Familiarity with Yale University and Dwight Hall at Yale. Proven understanding of the interests of Yale College students. Commitment to enhancing the undergraduate experience at Yale and the ability to inspire and lead student groups. Demonstrated ability to work independently when necessary and to meet deadlines with limited supervision. Interest in learning about Salesforce platform.
