A nonsectarian umbrella organization, Dwight Hall is the largest campus-based student-led service organization in the country. Job Profile Summary

Manages staff, policies, practices, and procedures in the following operational areas: human resources, facilities management, and information systems for Dwight Hall at Yale in support of administration, executive management, programming, development, communications, and finance.

Supervision Received: Director of Programming and Evaluation

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Supervises the day-to-day operations of Dwight Hall at Yale, acting as the main, initial point of contact for all Dwight Hall constituents.
  2. Oversees Dwight Hall at Yale facilities, material assets, and supportive processes, which includes managing calendars and maintenance for rooms and fleet.
  3. Reviews the administrative needs for staff and provides recommendations, improvements, solutions, and support as needed.
  4. Supports information management processes, including data entry, approval processes, and reporting for programming and development using Salesforce as primary information tool.
  5. Supports communication and planning at the Executive level, with attention to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  6. Manages student hiring and employment.
  7. Develops and adopts new processes as needed, and additional training materials to educate staff on new or changed policies or practices.
  8. Ensures compliance with university and federal regulations as they apply to of Dwight Hall.
  9. Identifies, plans, and develops administrative policies for the unit.
  10. Implements and enforces University and departmental policies as they pertain to the administrative functions of the assigned unit.
  11. Assesses and makes recommendations regarding staff development and staffing levels.
  12. May directly manage a staff of non-exempt employees.  
  13. May directly manage a staff of exempt employees.
  14. May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple people, processes, and calendars

Equity lens: knowledge of the history and ongoing impacts of racism in the United States, especially in the context of K-12 education, higher education, criminal justice, immigration, economic, and political systems

Comfort working with diverse group of individuals from a range of backgrounds, age groups, socioeconomic status, etc.

At least two years of work experience or related experience in sectors involving grassroots organizing, operations management, higher education administration, program development, or communications

Experience with cloud-based software like Salesforce

Ability to work remotely and independently

Position Type and Compensation

This position will be a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position receives all benefits of a Yale employee.
