Camp Kesem

Mission:
Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer by providing them with a community that understands the struggles they have experienced while also providing them with a space to just be kids.

Kesem at Yale was founded in 2013 and provides free summer camps and year long support for children touched by a parent’s cancer in the greater Connecticut area.

Summary of Activities:
Kesem supports children through and beyond a parent’s cancer with innovative, fun-filled programming that fosters a lasting community. Driven by passionate college student leaders, Kesem Nationals operates over 130 free summer camps in 44 states serving 10,000+ campers. Kesem at Yale is operated by around 80 student volunteers and serves 150 campers ages 6-18 per year.

Beyond just the week at camp, we host one fall and one spring reunion and send care packages to our families. Throughout the year, Kesem at Yale members are focused on planning and fundraising for camp while maintaining communication with our camper families so that we can spread the magic all year long.

We would love to have you join our Kesem family! Our volunteer applications open in early Spring but you can get involved earlier by emailing yale.volunteer@campkesem.org with any questions/concerns/comments and to be added to our email list!
