Our Mission:

New Haven REACH is a student-run organization that provides the information and support necessary for New Haven youth to access the higher education best suited to their dreams, potential, and ambitions. We offer personalized mentoring services to help students with college applications and beyond! We all share the core belief that no one should be shut out from attending college just because they don’t have the information and support they need to apply.

Our Activities:

Junior college application mentorship
New Haven REACH aims to simplify the college application process for high school students. This will be done through our junior mentorship program. We pair high school juniors in the New Haven area with Yale students to facilitate one-on-one mentorship for personalized preparation and guidance for upcoming college applications. Additionally, presentations are given on various aspects of the college application process, including standardized testing, making a college list, applying for financial aid, and writing college essays, to give mentees a sense of what to expect when they apply.

College application mentorship
Yale students will be paired with high school students applying to college to provide support and mentorship for their college applications. This includes essay editing, college list formation, financial aid support, etc.
