Outreach Coordinator – Yale Office of Career Strategy & Yale Office of Fellowships

Job Description:

Yale Office of Career Strategy and the Office of Fellowships are looking for undergraduate students to serve as Outreach Coordinators to increase visibility of the offices and bring awareness of our services to students who might otherwise not pursue competitive awards or seek career advising support. They will support both offices in all aspects of marketing, event planning, and community building for various opportunities. These are paid positions and students are expected to work, on average, 3-8 hours per week, with a maximum of 10 for the full 2024-25 academic year.  Hours per week vary. Students should be available for in-person work at least 2 hours per week for the Residential College office hours and for monthly meetings with their supervisor and fellowship coordinators. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Connecting with undergraduate students at all levels to raise awareness of a) different types of summer and term-time funding opportunities including Yale internal Summer Funding and various national/external awards and b) the many resources, services, and events that the Office of Careet Strategy offers.
  • Developing creative programming to promote funding opportunities & opportunities within OCS and recruit students to participate in these events.
  • Developing and delivering presentations to a range of student groups.
  • Connecting prospective students with appropriate Office of Fellowships resources.
  • Attending and assisting with CIPE events such as the Summer Opportunities Fair, Bulldog Days Academic Fair, info sessions, workshops/panels and other events as needed.
  • Assisting with general office duties as needed.
  • Assisting with communications and website editing as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Applicants who have prior experience applying for fellowships at the college level or who have engaged with OCS will be given preference.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Creativity, reliability, and openness will be important in this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students and staff from diverse backgrounds with enthusiasm, maturity, discretion and confidence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Required: Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with web design, communications, video editing/animation not required but can be helpful.
