Dwight Hall is proud to present the Spring 2024 Service Series–a calendar of meaningful service events that are readily accessible to students. Every week, Dwight Hall and a community partner will offer a service opportunity that addresses a community partner’s needs.
This calendar presents service opportunities that are low-key and low-commitment, making it ideal for students who feel they lack the time or capacity for greater participation. At the same time, through continued engagement with this calendar of events, students will get to know community partners and deepen their involvement with public service on campus and in New Haven.
With the DH Spring 2024 Service Series, you can:
- Make a flexible time commitment to service
- Choose when to attend service events each month
- Engage with a wide range of community partners and issues
- Build bridges to more meaningful involvement with community partners and long-term positive social change

Volunteer with Sunrise Cafe
Dwight Hall has adopted Tuesdays throughout Spring 2024 as a volunteer date at Sunrise Cafe.

Tuesday, April 23rd, 6:00am – 9:00am.
Assemble Curriculum Kits for Early Childhood Educators!
Join volunteers to assemble 200 kits that will be distributed to early childhood educators in the Greater New Haven area!
We will leave as a group from Dwight Hall at 1:00pm and walk over to the Connecticut Children’s Museum on Orange and Wall Streets in New Haven. You’ll have an opportunity to tour this treasured community resource with rooms dedicated to each of the 7 multiple intelligences.
We will return to campus as a group by 3pm.
The building is accessible for volunteers with mobility challenges.
