Health science lessons at New Haven Public Schools Direct Service MedSci works in New Haven Public Schools to introduce students to higher-level biology concepts early on in their academic careers to expose them to fascinating topics in science that lie ahead. To make the material approachable, we introduce concepts in a grade-appropriate manner (without assuming a large amount of background knowledge) and use examples that the students can understand and apply in their daily lives. We hope that sharing our passion for medicine and science will encourage kids to become excited about learning science and inspire them to possibly pursue a career in the health sciences. How Others Get Involved

Volunteers can email us via “yale.medsci@gmail.com.” Moreover, they can visit our website and contact us through there to be added to the mailing list. We host club meetings periodically through the semester when an opportunity arises for teaching (typically weeknights, but we will be specific in emails).
