Our Activities:

Shoe and Sock Distribution Events
Direct Service
Partnering with HAVEN Free Clinic, we plan to host weekly distribution events during their Saturday clinics, where we will distribute shoes, socks, coats, hand warmers, menstrual products, and hygiene products, such as lotions, soaps, and toothbrushes, to community members coming to the clinic for medical appointments. We also plan to continue our partnership with Chapel on the Green and host a large distribution event during their Maundy Thursday ceremony.

Direct Service
UHOPE Haven team members will be sharing their passion of public health with local high school students on Saturday April 6th, 2024 as a final event to an exciting National Public Health Week. The Office of Public Health Practice, along with SAYPH and the Office of New Haven Affairs is coordinating this event and UHOPE Haven will be one of YSPH's student organizations educating high school students on the needs and struggles of New Haven's unhoused community. The high school students will rotate to various activities, learning all about important public health topics in their community. The students will assemble care packages to be distributed at UHOPE Haven's event with Chapel on the Green. The care packages will include socks, bars of soap, body wipes, deodorant, chapstick, menstrual products, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
