Jeannot Basima Basketball Camp and Foundation
Update – September 2024
Jeannot Basima and Josiah Brown were guests of the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance (YANA) at a September 2024. The following video is provided courtesy of YANA. Video is courtesy of YANA. From the description:
The September “Live from New York Town Hall” was an inspiring discussion between Jeannot Basima ‘27, founder of the Jeannot Basima Basketball Camp and Foundation (JBF) in Goma, Congo, and Josiah Brown ‘92, executive director of Connecticut Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Jeannot and Josiah share insights on empowering at-risk youth through sports and advocacy. This conversation explores how meaningful change is created and how Yalies across generations are collaborating to transform youth development–from the basketball courts of Goma to the courtrooms of Connecticut.
Update – February 2024
Jeannot’s brother, Jospin Basima, recently returned to Goma and ran a camp on behalf of JBF!
