Mission

The Yale Journal of Human Rights is an undergraduate journal that publishes articles related to human rights issues. The journal provides a platform and space for students to engage with, advocate, and discuss human rights topics.

Activities

October Writing Workshop Advocacy or Activism On October 11, the Yale Human Rights Journal will be hosting writing workshops for any affiliated writers and anyone interested. Teach in: “The Criminalization of Student Protest” Advocacy or Activism On 10.02.24, The Yale Human Rights Journal will be hosting a teach in with Professor Roderick Ferguson for a conversation on The Criminalization of Student Protest. It will be at 7 pm at the MENACC (305 Crown St) November Writing Workshop Advocacy or Activism On November 15 the Yale Journal of Human Rights will be hosting a November Writing Workshop for all affiliated writers and anyone interested. Issue Sprint: Fall Edition Advocacy or Activism This will be an event for all affiliated writers of the Yale Journal of Human Rights. On this day we will finish the rest of the fall issue. Teach in: Hosted by World Fellows Advocacy or Activism We are Hosting a teach in on November 7 that will be taught by world fellows at the Jackson School Fall Issue Launch Party Advocacy or Activism The Yale Human Rights Journal will launch our fall 2024 issue on December 02, 2024. Our launch party is open to everyone, and is a moment to reflect and discuss the critical topics included in our pieces this fall. Feb Writers Workshop Advocacy or Activism The Feb Writers workshop is an oppurtunity for all students to learn better writing skills and is hosted by world fellows from the jackson school. We host this event every couple of months because it is so beneficial to the student body. Each session we have almost 50 students who attend because they are able to learn first hand from world fellows who have written in so many contexts: news publications, global affairs, critical/breaking news contexts. Teach in: Hosted by World Fellows Advocacy or Activism The Yale Human Rights Journal would like to invite you to our Teach In hosted by the world Fellows in discussing critical topics in todays politicall climate and how this may impact humanitarian issues in other countries. Teach in: Hosted by World Fellows Advocacy or Activism The Yale Human Rights Journal would like to invite you to our Teach In hosted by the world Fellows in discussing critical topics in todays politicall climate and how this may impact humanitarian issues in other countries. Workshop on Organizing and Civil Societies Role in Pushing for Justice Social/Cultural/Team-Building Collaborate with New Haven organizations and Yale professors to talk about what it means to organize and push for reform.
