Yale College Councils: Support Expanding Medicaid Coverage in CT

We are reaching out on behalf of the Husky 4 Immigrants Coalition in Connecticut, which consists of various immigrant rights organizations and healthcare providers fighting for Medicaid expansion to the undocumented population in CT.

This legislative session, we are running an important campaign to support a newly introduced bill that would build on last year’s Medicaid expansion efforts to extend coverage in CT to age 26. Our goal for the legislative year is to support legislation to expand HUSKY eligibility from age 12 to age 26 for all low-income CT residents, regardless of immigration status.

One way to support this legislation is to write a testimony in support of healthcare access expansion. As members of HAVEN Free Clinic, a student-run free clinic that provides primary care services to uninsured New Haven residents, we will be hosting a testimony-writing workshop for all students. If you’re interested in learning more about HUSKY Health (Medicaid), how to support, or how to write a testimony, we invite you to join our workshop!

In short, we need your support and invite you to join our student testimony-writing workshop on February 6th at 8:00-9:00 PM.

Thank you,

Tenzin, Derek, and Ketty
