FIRST at Yale

Our Mission:

At FIRST® Robotics Yale, we aim to increase awareness of FIRST® Robotics within Yale University and establish connections among individuals with experience in FIRST or those interested in getting involved. Through various initiatives, we strive to keep the Yale community connected to FIRST by providing mentorship to local robotics teams in New Haven, offering remote mentoring to teams worldwide via video calls, and actively participating as volunteers in tournaments across New England, New York, and beyond.

Our Activities:

One of our primary engagements involves mentoring FRC Team 7869, also known as The Fun Gang. This team operates out of Achievement First Amistad High School in New Haven. Since 2019, FIRST at Yale has provided dedicated volunteer mentors to support The Fun Gang’s activities and educate students about robotics. Our commitment extends into the upcoming year as we plan to maintain our mentoring role and expand our mentorship team.

Student Leaders:

Leading our efforts is João Pedro Fernandes, who serves as the Coordinator/President of FIRST Robotics Yale.
