Our Mission:

Rotaract’s mission is to promote the Rotarian motto of “service above self” among young people across the world. We focus on three areas: international projects, local community service, and campus engagement. Throughout the year we work with other groups on campus to promote events and fundraisers designed to connect students with the spirit of service. We also consult and partner with the New Haven Rotary Club and attend Rotary conferences at the United Nations in order to connect and interact with over 1,300 Rotary and Rotaract members from around the world. This calendar year, we aim to fundraise to provide medical equipment to a Turkish hospital that services Syrian refugees, along with monthly local volunteering events. To both fundraise and raise awareness for our Syrian Refugee Medical Relief project, we have partnered with Rotary clubs spanning New Haven to Germany. Feel free to stop by at one of our weekly meetings, and check out our website at to learn more!

Our Activities:

Medical Relief for Syrian Refugees Direct Service We are fundraising to provide ~8-10 bedside monitors to the under-resourced Antalya Hospital in Turkey. This hospital provides medical care for Syrian refugees residing in Turkey (where the greatest population of displaced Syrians reside due to the Syrian War). We are partnering with Rotary clubs across the country and around the world to raise funds to purchase the necessary equipment. Any additional funds raised will be used to provide PPE for refugees. Syrian Refugee Project Fundraising We raised more than $25,000 to help procure bedside monitors for Syrian Refugees in Antalya, Turkey. We partnered with the Falez Rotary Club and the Rotary Global Grant to achieve our fundraising goal. Fundraising and collaborating with Thrive Well, a Malaysian mental health-focused social enterprise Fundraising Thrive Well is a social enterprise with a mission to expand trauma-informed community mental health services to individuals, communities, and organizations, particularly the marginalized and high-needs communities, in a sustainable manner. They provide care to the community through a comprehensive range of programs and services, with the goal to make mental health services accessible to everyone. In accordance to Rotary International’s theme this year—mental well-being— Yale Rotaract will work closely with Rotary clubs in Malaysia and Thrive Well to help survivors of domestic violence overcome their trauma.
